I love lichens. There is something ancient feeling about them, and when I look at them I think I could be back at the dawn of the dinosaur era. Ferns have a similar effect on me. Unfortunately, my photographs have not equalled my enthusiam. I have been disappointed with the pictures: either the color has been off, or they lack three-dimensionality, or the lighting is poor. I have not spent the time to try and fix these deficiencies, but perhaps next year I will.
